Thoughts from the Client Services Manager:
From
my vantage point, I can observe our clients from an
objective distance. What has recently come to
my notice is the many “thresholds” that our clients are
having to cross on a regular basis. And it made me turn inward
and look back at the “thresholds” I have had to cross in my
life – entering a new school on the first day; knocking on
the headmaster’s door and entering; being interviewed for my
first job; discussing a problem with the professor at
university; meeting the bank manager to negotiate a loan;
visiting the doctor or dentist, and so on.
As
parents, guardians, support workers etc, we have all crossed
thresholds like these, and we know what impacts they have
had on our lives – momentary impacts, or long
lasting.
