At Sunshine Coast Independent Living Service (SCILS), we believe the strongest organisations are built on diverse perspectives, meaningful collaboration, and a genuine commitment to the people they support. That’s why we are inviting expressions of interest from family members, guardians, and next of kin who may be interested in joining the SCILS Board of Directors.

This opportunity has arisen following a recent Board vacancy and presents a unique chance to contribute to the future direction of SCILS. As a Board Director, you will play an important role in supporting the governance, strategic planning, and long-term growth of an organisation dedicated to empowering people with disability to live meaningful, independent, and connected lives.
We recognise the invaluable lived experience that families, guardians, and support networks bring to our community. Your insight, understanding, and perspective can help ensure the voices of participants remain at the centre of decision-making and continue to shape the services and supports we provide.
Whether you have previous governance experience or are considering your first Board role, we encourage you to explore this opportunity. We are seeking individuals who are passionate about inclusion, community, advocacy, and creating positive outcomes for people with disability. Previous Board experience is not essential.
Joining the SCILS Board offers an opportunity to make a meaningful contribution to your local community while helping to guide an organisation that has been supporting people with disability across the Sunshine Coast for many years. We believe representation from families and guardians strengthens our organisation and helps ensure we continue to evolve in response to the needs of participants and those who support them.
If you are interested in learning more about becoming a SCILS Board Director, we welcome any enquires.
This opportunity is being offered on behalf of SCILS Board Chair, Melissa Robbins, and the SCILS Board of Directors.
