Our Volunteers Group is a social, community‑focused program where participants come together every Monday to enjoy a full day of connection, meaningful activities and shared experiences. The group is designed for people who enjoy being active in the community, spending time with peers and contributing in ways that feel purposeful and fun.
Participants visit a range of community locations, including local community gardens and the Twinnies Pelican and Seabird Sanctuary, where they take part in light volunteering tasks while socialising with other SCILS participants and members of the community. The group also enjoys exploring wildlife and nature at local zoos and parks, creating a great balance of social interaction, outdoor activities and community involvement.
Our support staff are there throughout the day to ensure everyone feels safe, supported and engaged. Transport is provided from the SCILS office, and one‑to‑one supports are often available to help meet individual needs.
This group is perfect for participants who want to build friendships, stay active and contribute to their community in a relaxed and supportive environment.
