Living Independently With the Right Support
Our focus is to support people to live well within their own home environment. We assist across all areas of daily living — helping each person maintain independence, build skills and participate fully in the life they choose.
Clients remain responsible for their own personal living expenses, including rent or mortgage payments, utilities, household costs and personal purchases. Tenancy agreements are always established in the client’s name(s), ensuring full rights and control over their home.
SCILS works alongside clients, families and advocates to support tenancy responsibilities, budgeting, home setup and decision‑making.
Promoting Choice, Control and Daily Independence
Our support workers encourage each client to be as independent as possible, with active involvement in the daily running of their home. This includes meal planning, shopping, household routines, community access and participation in meaningful daily activities.
Each person is supported to engage with the community to the fullest extent of their ability, whether through social activities, appointments, work, volunteering or personal interests. Support is flexible and built around the individual’s preferences, abilities and goals.
